The 1980s were the hot hatch decade, and Volkswagen's MK2 GTI 16V was a fan favorite. Tamiya's R/C version copies the MK2 GTI as a rally car in A7 class competition. The body sits on the MF-01 chassis, which handles both asphalt and flat dirt. MF-01X COMPACT 4WD: Tough monocoque frame with integrated gearboxes. Rear-mounted motor drives the rear wheels through gears, with a propeller shaft carrying power to the front. Differential gears in both front and rear gearboxes. Battery in the center for balance. 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension with friction dampers.
