About this part
The most technologically advanced modern fighter on the planet finally lands in Tamiya's legendary 1/48 Aircraft Series. This is the A variant of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II: A for the Air Force, B for the Marines, C for the Navy. Developed under the Joint Strike Fighter program, it's one of the fifth-generation fighters, with stealth, network connectivity and strong situational awareness from numerous integrated sensors. First delivered in 2015, with over 3,000 planned for deployment worldwide, it inherits the Lightning name from the P-38 and is expected to lead air arms for years to come.
