A cost-effective combo: Item 61090 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 'Bubbletop' and Item 89755 1/48 U.S. 1/4-ton 44 Light Vehicle in a special package, with a new complementary instruction manual and one standing officer figure from Item 61089. In May 1941, a single-engine fighter over 4 tons made its first flight. That was the XP-47B, prototype of the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, and a total of 15,683 would be built. After the P-51 Mustang arrived, the P-47D Bubbletop showed its punch on ground attack missions as a tough, well-balanced fighter-bomber. The 1/4-ton 4x4 light vehicle had a light, powerful chassis and a reliable engine, and over 600,000 were built during WWII alone. P-47D: 1/48 scale plastic model kit. Fuselage length 230mm, wingspan 259mm. Flaps are separate parts and can be attached up or down. Parts included for four propeller types, three drop tank types and ordnance. Comes with one seated pilot figure.
