Nissan's Skyline GT-R came back to the Japanese motorsports scene with serious bite. The original was created in 1969 as a road-going racer. Nissan unveiled this reincarnation in May 1989, 16 years after the previous GT-R. The 2568cc six-cylinder DOHC 24-valve engine has twin ceramic turbos, an intercooler and 280hp, built for competition. Nissan's ATTESA E-TS variable torque-split 4WD and SUPER-HICAS four-wheel steering put the power down and cut spin during hard running. Ventilated disc brakes on all four corners stop without fade. Blister fenders, a front air dam and a large rear spoiler add downforce.
