This 1/12 scale plastic kit comes with a serious backstory. At the Jarama circuit in 1993, Tetsuya Harada was prepping his machine before the season's final round. He became the first Japanese World Champion since 1977. Rival Loris Capirossi led the points going in, but bad luck derailed him in the 250cc GP2 title fight. It was Harada's debut World Grand Prix season, after a couple of years with Yamaha perfecting the works TZM bike that won the 1992 All Japan Championship. TECH: The 1993 Yamaha TZ250M ran a 249cc liquid-cooled V-twin with 94 horsepower. Crankcase reed valve induction paired with electronically controlled exhaust valves. A six-speed gearbox with electronic cut-out shifting removed the need for clutch work. It sat in a rigid twin-spar box-section aluminum frame with adjustable head angle. Fits: general hobby plastic models.
