The #158 is Kadee's scale all-metal self-centering whisker coupler. The smaller head is patterned after the type E couplers and runs closer to scale. The whisker centering spring and insulated draft gear box come standard. The #158 mounts with the supplied #242 draft gear box or into cast-on coupler pockets. It couples with other Kadee HO and HOn3 couplers. It shares the same shank length as the NO.5, #28 or #58, so you can drop it in place of those. The metal matches the NO.5 and #58 for strength and rigidity. Don't mount metal couplers straight onto metal surfaces or into a metal draft gear box, or you risk shorting and damage. Use the provided insulated draft gear box. The package includes two pair of couplers, two pair of #242 gearboxes and instructions. FITS: General hobby HO scale trains
