It hit the scene in 1990 as a compact, low-friction, fully enclosed 3-gear design that beat the original 6-gear box for efficiency and durability. Its debut was the 1990 ROAR Off-Road Nationals at Hobby Haven Raceway in Des Moines, Iowa, where Team Associated drivers ran the field. Lett focused on power transfer, less rotating mass and simpler maintenance. The Stealth became the standard for competitive off-road RC and shaped transmission design for years.
