About this part
1/67 scale B-26 Invader bomber from the old Monogram tooling. Molded in silver with clear parts and landing gear. Updated decal sheet and artwork. Skill level 2. Officially licensed with Boeing. Douglas Aircraft built the A-26 in WWII to fill the need for a modern attack plane. It was later renamed the B-26. It was the fastest attack bomber of its day, mixing speed, heavy firepower and bomb capacity. It worked as a straight bomber, night fighter, skip bomber or strafer. This version carried eighteen .50 cal machine guns and six rockets on top of the regular bomb load. The fuselage turrets were remote-controlled and aimed with a periscope-style sight. Specs: 70 ft wingspan, 50 ft 9 in long, cruise in the 300 MPH class, two 18-cylinder double-row Pratt and Whitney radials, crew of 3. Finished model: 9 inches long with a 12.5 inch wingspan. Ages 14 and up.
