The H-16 Piasecki Transporter is a 1/96 scale tandem-rotor helicopter that measures 9.75 inches long. It has movable rotors and an operating cargo door, and it comes with a swivel display stand and a collectible trading card. The kit is molded in silver and clear, with decals and instructions. Piasecki designed the H-16 for transport or rescue. The Air Force and Army evaluated the prototypes, but a crash of the second test aircraft in 1956 ended the project before production. The first prototype was shown publicly in September 1953. It was meant to be the world's largest transport helicopter, and it carried 40 troops, 32 litter patients or 3 Jeeps. It weighed more than twice the largest helicopter then in service, with a fuselage nearly 78 feet long and a 134 foot combined rotor span.
