About this part

Small metal coil spring that sits inside the ball diff. It sets the preload on the diff balls, so the diff acts the way you tuned it. A worn or tired spring makes the diff feel off and can cause slipping or binding under power. Swap it out and the diff feel comes back. Factory Xray replacement part.
