Planetary gear box set from Tamiya's Technicraft Series. It takes the high RPM of an electric motor and turns it into high torque at low RPM. Precision instruments use planetary gears for their reliability and accuracy. The RC-260 motor in this set has carbon brushes for long motor life and runs on 3 volts. Combine the gearboxes in different ways for 8 gear ratios: 4:1, 5:1, 16:1, 20:1, 25:1, 80:1, 100:1 and 400:1. At 400:1 and 3V, it produces a torque of about 15 kg. Pictorial instructions included.
