TT-02 is an easy-to-build, proven platform. It's perfect for newcomers starting out in R/C 4WD on-road racing, or for parking-lot fun with friends. This kit recreates the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II on the TT-02 chassis, the car that raced in the 1991 DTM series. The German Touring Car series (DTM) started in 1984 and has changed its rules many times since. Interest peaked in the early 1990s, when Mercedes-Benz battled archrival BMW and other brands for track supremacy. During that championship, Mercedes introduced the 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II in 1991. Based on the compact 190 E, it got better aero: over fenders, front and rear spoilers and a large rear wing. Its 2.5-liter inline-4 DOHC made 340hp. That same year, the works team car, sponsored by German beer brand Knig Pilsener, finished second in the championship and brought the Manufacturers Championship to Mercedes-Benz.
