RPM's rear skid plate for the Traxxas Maxx fixes the stock design's biggest problem. The stock mounting screws are exposed, and damage to them can wreck the bulkheads and turn a scrape into a costly repair. RPM moved the skid ribs away from the screw holes, so the screws are shielded from harm. The ribs themselves become wear surfaces, which adds life to the plate. Where stock has two skid ribs, RPM's has three. That extra rib means more durability and abrasion resistance.
