The Series II debuted at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1958, a full decade after production started. Its Series I sibling premiered at the same show. David Bache led the design team, and he would go on to create groundbreaking designs like the Range Rover and Rover SD1. He and his crew styled the Series II in just six weeks, and it earned praise for being simple and truly functional. The basic shape and function stayed central through every later version, and the rounded shoulders became a signature look. The Series II added deeper sills that hid the chassis members and gave it a less utilitarian face, along with distinctive curved glass at the rear corners of the cab. In 1969 a legal requirement moved the front headlamps from the grille into the wings. Output peaked in 1971 at 56,000 a year built in Solihull, and more than half a million Series II models were made over a 13-year run. Pre-1969 models are getting rare and very sought after. This 1/24 scale 4WD RTR is from Carisma. Fits: Carisma MSA-1E
