Reedy's all-new Sonic SP5 21.5T stock motor is built to sit at the top of the stock class. The design is unique and loaded with features that count when the race goes long. The stator is designed in-house and shaped for max torque and power without giving up RPM. Copper magnet wire is sized to the max the rules allow and wound tight to keep resistance near the legal floor. Heat transfer epoxy pulls heat out of the windings, which means less fade over a race. An oversized collector ring sheds heat and, with thick solder tabs, cuts resistance and power loss. The balanced rotor uses a high-strength magnet built to the dimensional rules for fade-free power. Precision stainless steel ball bearings handle high RPM loads with efficiency and reliability. Like every Reedy Sonic motor, a high-quality sensor board sits inside.
