AKA's next-gen Diamante is built for hard-packed, dusty, blown-out track surfaces. The design targets the three things that decide a race: bump handling, longevity and grip. The carcass comes from the design on the race-winning Component 2AB, tuned for bumpy ground. Micro-pins along the outer edges take the edge off the bumps. This is AKA's densest tread pattern so far, which means more run time per set. The rectangular lugs sit with their short side facing the direction of rotation, so they stay supported under load and bite harder going forward. The diamond-shaped pattern between the lugs holds grip in the slightly dusty conditions that show up late in a long main.
